When Should I go to the ER

If you think you may have a potentially life-threatening emergency medical condition, do not go to an urgent care center or walk-in clinic. Call 911 or go immediately to your nearest hospital emergency department.

Life threatening emergency conditions include but are not limited to:

•   Heart attack or stroke
•   Chest pain
•   Head injury or other major trauma
•   Severe abdominal pain
•   One-sided weakness or numbness
•   Severe bleeding
•   Open fractures
•   Congestive Heart Failure
•   Loss of consciousness
